디지털 자아는 스스로 죽을수 있는가? / Can the Digital Ego Commit Suicide?

<Can the Digital Ego Commit Suicide?> involves communication via machine language, which uses light as a medium and is unintelligible to humans. These signals are created by expressing human language in the form of Morse code, which is then converted into light signals. The work touches on the existence of digital egos and their relation to humans. What’s portrayed here goes beyond the conventional notion of ‘humans coexisting with machines’, showing machines that have transcended humans and communicate exclusively amongst themselves in a world where machines and technology have become deified.
If it were possible for humans to communicate and converse with AI, would we be able to accept AI as beings in their own right? Through these two pieces, Min raises questions about how human acceptance of digital lifeforms, going on to prompt viewers on their thoughts regarding the being-hood of such digital lifeforms. Sartre posited that only humans were capable of suicide. Are digital lifeforms and AI capable of making choices outside of their programming? Are digital lifeforms capable of suicide?

<디지털 자아는 자살할 수 있을까?>는 빛을 매개로 인간이 알아들을 수 없는 기계어를 통한 소통이다. 이러한 신호는 인간의 언어를 모스부호로 표현한 후 빛 신호로 변환하여 생성됩니다. 이 작업은 디지털 자아의 존재와 인간과의 관계를 다룬다. 여기에 그려지는 것은 '인간과 기계의 공존'이라는 기존의 관념을 넘어, 기계와 기술이 신격화되는 세상에서 인간을 초월하고 오로지 자기들끼리만 소통하는 기계를 보여준다.
인간이 AI와 소통하고 대화할 수 있다면 AI를 존재로 받아들일 수 있을까? 이 두 작품을 통해 민은 인간이 디지털 생명체를 수용하는 방식에 대해 질문을 던지고, 그런 디지털 생명체의 존재에 대한 생각을 하게 만든다. 사르트르는 오직 인간만이 자살할 수 있다고 단정했다. 디지털 생명체와 AI는 프로그래밍 이외의 선택을 할 수 있습니까? 디지털 생명체는 자살할 수 있습니까?
